# Connect FirstPromoter

Paste your FirstPromoter key so a deal you agree can add the affiliate to FirstPromoter in one press.

Connect FirstPromoter and an agreed deal gets an "Add to FirstPromoter" button. One press adds the affiliate to your FirstPromoter account.

## Connect it

1. In FirstPromoter, open **Settings**, then **Integrations**, then Manage API keys. Copy the API key. The Account ID is in the same panel.
2. In RecruitAffiliates.ai, go to **Settings**, then **Integrations**, then the FirstPromoter card. Press **Connect**.
3. Paste the API key and the Account ID. We check it with one read, store it encrypted and never show it again.
4. Pick the **campaign** new partners go to.

We turn FirstPromoter's welcome emails off for partners we add. Only owners and admins can connect. Everyone else can read the card. [Integrations](/integrations) explains the cards.

## Add to FirstPromoter

Open an agreed deal and press "Add to FirstPromoter". It:

- Creates the partner with their name and email in the campaign you picked.
- Saves their referral link if FirstPromoter returns one. A **referral link** is the link that credits a sale to that partner. FirstPromoter gives us a referral link when the partner is made, and we save it.
- Moves the card to **Live**.

Pressing twice creates one partner. If the email already exists in FirstPromoter, we link the deal to that partner instead.

## Your current partners

When you connect, and once a week after that, we read your FirstPromoter partners. Everyone already in FirstPromoter is skipped in every scan, so you don't pay to find people you already have. FirstPromoter shows their website too, so both emails and websites are skipped.

The card shows "N current partners skipped in your scans". Press **Read them again** to refresh the count now.

## The referral link

In the invite reply in Mailroom, the referral link from FirstPromoter is used ahead of your own signup link.

## When something goes wrong

Errors show on the card in FirstPromoter's own words. Fix the cause, then press **Retry**.
