# Connect Salesforce

Send your affiliates to Salesforce as leads or contacts, matched by email.

Send your affiliates to Salesforce as leads or as contacts. You sign in to Salesforce and allow access. There's no key to copy.

## Connect

1. Go to **Settings**, then **Integrations**.
2. On the **Salesforce** card, press **Connect Salesforce**.
3. Sign in to Salesforce and press **Allow**.
4. Back here, under **Affiliates go to**, pick **Leads** or **Contacts**.

The person who connects needs to be able to create and edit leads or contacts in Salesforce.

## Add the stage field (optional)

To see each affiliate's stage in Salesforce, add a field for it once:

1. In Salesforce Setup, open Object Manager, then **Lead** (or **Contact**).
2. Open Fields & Relationships and press **New**.
3. Pick Text, length 50, and call it `RecruitAffiliates.ai Stage`. The field name becomes `RecruitAffiliates_Stage`.
4. Make it visible and editable for the person who connected.

Without it, everything else still goes.

## Send

1. Go to **Lists**.
2. On a list or a segment, press **Send to another tool**, then **Salesforce**.
3. Press **Check who goes**, then **Send to Salesforce**.

## What lands in Salesforce

- One lead or contact per affiliate with an email, matched by email.
- A new lead gets the affiliate's name, email, company (their channel's name) and website. A new contact gets the name and email.
- Someone already there keeps everything you've entered. We change only their stage, if you've added the field.
- Nobody who opted out, asked to be removed or was marked Do not contact ever goes. Nor does anyone who's already your partner, or anyone with no email.

## Keep stages in sync

Tick **Keep stages in sync** on the card. Once a day, anyone you sent who moved stage here is updated in Salesforce. Nothing comes back from Salesforce.

## Disconnect

Press **Disconnect** on the card. We end our access at Salesforce too. Your records stay in Salesforce.

## Plans

Salesforce's API comes with the Enterprise and Unlimited editions. The free Developer edition has it too. Professional needs Salesforce's API add-on. Sandboxes can't connect yet. Here, it needs a paid plan with exports, Launch or higher.
