# Connect Tolt

Paste your Tolt key so a deal you agree can add the affiliate to Tolt in one press.

Connect Tolt and an agreed deal gets an "Add to Tolt" button. One press adds the affiliate to your Tolt account.

The Tolt card says Beta. We built it from Tolt's API docs and tested it against their examples, but we haven't run it on a live Tolt account yet. If connecting fails, the card says what Tolt answered. Email us and we'll fix it with you.

## Connect it

1. In Tolt, open **Settings**, then **Integrations**. Copy the API key. It starts `tlt_live_`.
2. In RecruitAffiliates.ai, go to **Settings**, then **Integrations**, then the Tolt card. Press **Connect**.
3. Paste the API key. We check it with one read, store it encrypted and never show it again.
4. Pick the **program** new partners go to.

Tolt calls campaigns programs, so you pick a program. We leave Tolt's welcome email off. Only owners and admins can connect. Everyone else can read the card. [Integrations](/integrations) explains the cards.

## Add to Tolt

Open an agreed deal and press "Add to Tolt". It:

- Creates the partner with their name and email in the program you picked.
- Saves their referral link if Tolt returns one. A **referral link** is the link that credits a sale to that partner. Tolt returns no referral link when a partner is added, so the invite uses your own signup link.
- Moves the card to **Live**.

Pressing twice creates one partner. If the email already exists in Tolt, we link the deal to that partner instead.

## Your current partners

When you connect, and once a week after that, we read your Tolt partners. Everyone already in Tolt is skipped in every scan, so you don't pay to find people you already have. Only emails are skipped.

The card shows "N current partners skipped in your scans". Press **Read them again** to refresh the count now.

## The referral link

In the invite reply in Mailroom, the referral link from Tolt is used ahead of your own signup link.

## When something goes wrong

Errors show on the card in Tolt's own words. Fix the cause, then press **Retry**.
