Getting started with Finder
The four setup steps that start your first scan, and the brand settings that change any of it later.
Finder lives at app.recruitaffiliates.ai. Links to its old address forward you there.
Setup is four short steps. It takes about ten minutes, and there's no card at any point. Your first scan starts in the background after you choose competitors and topics. You can finish setup and use Finder while it runs.
Every choice has a ? beside its name. Press it, or tab to it and press Enter, and a short note opens under the name. It says what the choice changes in your scan. Press it again, or Escape, to close it.
The four steps
Your domain
Type your product's domain, like acme.com. That's what the scan runs on. A trial covers one domain, and a domain gets one trial. If someone has already run a trial for yours, we tell you, and you can email support to sort it out.
Your 14-day trial starts here.
What it does
We read your home page and write two or three sentences about what you sell. It takes under a minute, and you don't have to wait for it. The box is open the whole time, with what we're doing beside it. Press Type it myself, write two sentences, and press Next. The read carries on in the background, so its suggestions still reach the next step. It never writes over what you typed.
If you wait, fix anything that's wrong. The scan works from this summary. Your country comes from your browser, and we never assume the United States. If your browser doesn't say where you are, you pick.
Some sites block readers like ours. If yours does, try again or type the summary yourself. Two sentences is plenty.
Who you're up against
Pick up to 10 competitors and up to 20 topics. We preselect the first five competitors and eight topics when enough credible suggestions exist. Every suggestion stays visible, so you can remove one or pick another in place. You need at least one competitor or topic. If you typed your summary before we finished reading your site, the suggestions arrive here a few seconds later.
A competitor you pick shows a number: how many sites and channels name it. Before your scan has counted, it shows the usual range, "usually 30 to 90". That comes from three test scans we ran in September 2026, before any filtering. Your own count replaces it once your scan runs.
Under the picks is Who you want. Both choices have a default, so you can leave them.
- Size. Small, medium, large, or any. It moves the ranking. It never hides anyone.
- Countries. Yours, plus the ones next to it. For everyone outside them, rank them lower or hide them. Hiding only removes an affiliate whose country we know. If we don't know where someone is, they stay in your list. Your trial still shows fifty.
Your first scan starts when you press Next here. It runs while you write your offer.
Your offer
This is the step most tools skip. Your offer is what an affiliate earns for sending you a customer: the rate, and how long it pays.
- Rate. A percentage of each sale, or a fixed amount per sale.
- How long. For as long as the customer pays, for a number of months, or on the first payment only.
- Tiers, optional. A tier is a higher rate once an affiliate has brought you a number of customers. There's a three-tier template: your rate to start, more after an affiliate's third customer, more again after their tenth. Change any number.
- Bonus and gifting, optional. A one-off payment, or a free account.
Beside the rate is a note on what affiliates of each size tend to expect, because the bigger ones often want a fee up front as well as their commission.
Once your matches say what they're paid, you'll see it here too: "Affiliates who promote Tolt say they get 30% lifetime (4 videos)". It shows only when at least two of their pages or videos say the same rate. Finder repeats what they say and counts who said it. It never averages or guesses. Your scan is often still running at this step, so you may see it first under Brand, Offer.
Nothing can be sent until your offer exists, and every deal you make later starts from it, so it's worth two minutes.
That's it. Press Finish setup and you land on Today, below.
Follow the first scan
The scan status stays above Discover, Saved, Brand and Settings. It shows elapsed time and which sources have completed. Results appear after a source has committed its pass, so a count never promises rows that are not ready.
At four minutes, Finder names any sources still running. A scan is terminal by five minutes. If one source reaches its limit, results from completed sources remain usable and the warning offers a retry. A failed scan keeps your setup and gives you the same recovery action. The completion notice stays until you dismiss it, then the shell shows the next scan date.
Today, the screen you open each morning
When setup is done you land on Today. It's the first entry in the sidebar, and it's where you land every time you sign in, because it answers the question you'd otherwise open four screens for: what changed since you last looked?
Five lines, always in this order. Each one is a count, a sentence and one button.
- New matches since you last looked, best first. The top three show the page or video that got them in, with an Open and a Not a fit button. Not a fit hides them, and you can undo it.
- Replies waiting. Until you connect an inbox, this line says so instead of showing a zero.
- Agreed deals that aren't in AffiliateRail yet. Add to AffiliateRail opens the activation sheet for that deal.
- Partners who've gone quiet for 30 days. Quiet means we haven't seen them mention you. Copy their link gives you their portal address to send with a note.
- Email credits left this period, and the date they reset.
"Since you last looked" is per person. Your first visit counts the last week. After that it counts from your last visit and never reaches back further than seven days, even if you've been away for a month. Back within the hour? The lines stay put.
The yellow button at the top opens New this week: the new matches one at a time, the same way as swipe. Right arrow saves, left arrow is not a fit, down arrow skips. The keys sit under the buttons. On a phone, swipe sideways to answer. Up and down still scroll.
The same five counts sit at the top of Pipeline as links back to Today.
Change it later: brand settings
Open Brand in the sidebar. There are seven tabs, and each one says what an edit changes and when.
| Tab | What's in it | When a change takes effect |
|---|---|---|
| Search | Your summary, competitors and topics | Your next weekly scan |
| Targeting | Size, countries, languages, hide or rank lower, plus an optional Advanced revenue estimate | Now. We re-score your rows, which takes 30 to 90 seconds |
| Offer | The rate, how long it pays, tiers, bonus, gifting | Every new deal. Saved deals keep their terms |
| Voice | Who buys from you, proof, things to avoid, tone | The next email we draft |
| Sending | Daily limit and signature | The next email sent |
| Exclusions | People you already work with | Discover now, and every scan after |
| Approvals | Not in this release |
Two things worth knowing:
- The number beside a competitor is how many of your rows name that competitor in a review, a comparison or a video. It's measured from your own scan. Before your first scan it says "not measured yet".
- Hiding by country shows a count first. Before you save, the Targeting tab tells you how many of your rows would leave Discover. They aren't deleted. Switch back and they return. A row with no known country is never hidden.
- The revenue estimate is optional. Open Advanced revenue estimate under Targeting to enter customer value, conversion rate and tracked share. Leave customer value empty to keep no estimate. Finder shows a range for every 1,000 visitors.
Exclusions
An exclusion is someone you already work with, so we don't show them to you as new. There are two ways to add them.
- From AffiliateRail. Press Sync and your partner list becomes exclusions. It's free, because it's the same account.
- From a CSV. Any columns, in any order. Put one email, website or YouTube link in each cell. We match on all three, skip what we can't read, and tell you how many cells we skipped. A file can hold up to 5,000 rows and 1 MB.
The checklist
Four steps sit on your board until they're done: review your top 50, write your offer, connect your inbox, send your first sequence. "Reviewed" means you saved a row or marked it not a fit.
One sign-in for both apps
Finder and AffiliateRail share one account. Sign in to either one and the other lets you straight in.
- Opening Finder while signed in to AffiliateRail. Finder asks AffiliateRail who you are, gets a one-time code back and signs you in. The address bar flicks for a moment while it happens.
- The code works once, for a minute, and only on the app it was made for. A one-time code is a random string that stands in for your password on one trip between the two apps. If you copy the link and open it again, it's refused and you get the normal sign-in form.
- Opening AffiliateRail from Finder. "Open in AffiliateRail" and "Create your AffiliateRail program" do the same thing the other way round, so you land there signed in.
- Signed out of both? You get Finder's sign-in form, the same as always.
- Signing out is per app. Sign out of Finder and AffiliateRail keeps you signed in, and the other way round.
Forgot your password?
Finder and AffiliateRail share one account, so one password works in both. On Finder's sign-in page, press Forgot your password? under the password box. That takes you to AffiliateRail's reset page, which emails you a link. Open it, set a new password, and you land back on Finder, signed in. If you started from a deal's activation sheet, you land back on that sheet.
Next: the deal and the hand-off.
