Saved replies

Write the answers you give all week once, then drop one into the Mailroom's reply box, change what you like and press Send.

A saved reply is an answer you write once and reuse. Let's say three affiliates a week ask what the commission is. Save the answer, and next time it's two clicks.

Use one

  1. Open a thread in the Mailroom.
  2. Press Saved replies above the reply box.
  3. Pick one. It drops into the box.
  4. Change anything you like, then press the send button.

Picking a saved reply never sends it. Only the send button sends.

If the box already has text in it, the saved reply goes underneath.

Prepared answers

On a thread, Saved replies also lists answers we've written for you, filled with your offer. The ones that fit the latest reply come first, marked Fits this reply.

  • What do you earn per click? If your AffiliateRail program has at least 200 clicks in the last 90 days, it gives your real figure. If not, it gives your commission as a percentage and says any per-click number would be a guess. We never make one up.
  • Fee request, three ways: a smaller fee plus commission, free product plus commission, or a smaller ask at the same commission. Pick the one you like.
  • No budget: thanks them, restates your commission and offers a free account.
  • We only work through a network: says your program is direct and gives your link. It's marked Untested, because nobody has measured how well it works.

A part in square brackets, like [your fee], is yours to fill in. The send button refuses until you do. Like any saved reply, picking one never sends it.

The two blanks

Write these in a saved reply and they fill themselves when you pick it:

  • {first_name} becomes the affiliate's first name. If their name reads like a channel or a company, it becomes "there", so you get "Hi there", never "Hi TechReviews".
  • {brand} becomes your brand's name.

For example, Hi {first_name}, {brand} pays 30% for 12 months. picked on Lena Park's thread reads "Hi Lena, Acme pays 30% for 12 months."

Shared or just you

  • Shared replies show for everyone on your team.
  • The rest are just yours. Nobody else sees them.

You can edit or delete your own. An owner or admin can also fix a shared one, so a reply left by someone who has gone can still be changed.

Write and edit them

  • In the reply box: write a reply, press Save what you wrote, give it a name and choose whether to share it. Each of your own has a Delete link in the list.
  • In Settings, Saved replies: every reply you can see, with Edit and Delete, and a form for a new one.

Delete happens at once, and a message with Undo stays for five seconds. Undo puts the reply back with the same name, text and sharing, as a new reply. The form in Settings asks before you leave with changes you haven't saved.

A brand keeps up to 100.
